The Electoral Commission (EC) has suspended the re-collation of election results at the Tesano Police Training School.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced the suspension of the re-collation process for the Presidential and Parliamentary election results that was underway at the Tesano Police Training School.

This process had been initiated for constituencies where the collation did not comply with the legal provisions of C.I. 127 or could not be completed on election day due to disruptions.

In a statement issued on Friday, December 13, the EC attributed the initial collation delays to interruptions caused by political party supporters on election day and the following days, which led to the relocation of the collation process.

The Tesano Police Training School was chosen as the venue for the re-collation process after consultations and an agreement with the Inspector General of Police and his team.

The Commission stated that political party agents were notified of the change in location and actively monitored the re-collation process, which led to the successful collation and declaration of results for the Fanteakwa North, Akwatia, and Suhum constituencies the previous day.

Although no timeline has been provided for the resumption of the re-collation, the EC urged stakeholders to collaborate with the Commission to ensure the completion of its mandate.
