Shatta Wale Supports Artist with GH₵20,000 for Tertiary Education
Renowned Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, extended his generosity to a young artist in Kumasi during his recent visit to the Garden City.
In a video shared on Facebook by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, the musician is seen gifting GH₵20,000 to a 19-year-old artist named Priscilla, who presented him with a portrait of himself.
While accepting the artwork, Shatta Wale asked Priscilla about her educational background. She revealed that she had completed senior high school the previous year but could not proceed to university due to financial challenges. Her mother had advised her to wait until they could gather enough money for her education.
Moved by her story, Shatta Wale instructed his manager to contact Priscilla’s mother. During the meeting, Shatta Wale personally handed over the GH₵20,000 to support Priscilla’s tertiary education.
Priscilla’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude, sharing the difficulties her family has faced since her husband’s passing three years ago.
“God bless you so much for this gesture,” she said.
Sammy Flex emphasized the importance of using the money for its intended purpose.
“All that Shatta Wale seeks is for the money to be used for Priscilla’s education. It is not for clothes or other things. Use it for everything she will need to continue her studies,” he stated.
This act of kindness comes weeks after Shatta Wale spearheaded the Accra Invasion Project, an initiative aimed at promoting up-and-coming musicians.
